CP Cares.

At Cruise Planners - American Express Travel, we believe in social responsibility and giving back within the community in order to create a positive change wherever possible. What started as selling a few "bling" shirts has grown into an outreach program, CP Cares, that is built on the company's commitment to support organizations throughout the United States and around the world.

Through this umbrella program, Home Office and its franchise owners have strived to positively impact children and families worldwide. We are dedicated to raising awareness and donating funds to various charities as well as providing hands-on service to the community. It's another example of our Cruisitude™, embraced by the entire organization.

Since 2008, CP Cares efforts include: muscular dystrophy association, kids in distress, breast cancer awareness, Shoes for Africa, Fisher House Foundation, Wyland Foundation, Angel Notion, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

For 2012, we challenged our team to carry out the mission for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We reached out to our franchise owners, travel industry partners and vendors, friends old and new online and offline. We held multiple fundraising events and silent auctions. We campaigned for Woman of the Year, an LLS fundraising competition. We participated in LLS: Light the Night Walk.

• Our very own COO, Vicky Garcia named The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year 2012, Ft. Lauderdale with an unprecedented $115,000 raised for LLS.
• An additional $22,000 from our Light the Night Walk and annual convention fundraising efforts.
• Over 500 teddy bears and more than 300 DVDs for the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

But this is only the beginning. Together we can make a difference. We are the answer for curing cancer.
